Renew New York, a partnership between News12, Newsday and Hofstra University, is a series of events about the issues that New Yorkers are currently facing. Renew New York’s goal is threefold:

1. to educate New Yorkers about the issues of concern to voters going into the 2010 election,
2. to empower citizens to get involved in civic programs and participate in forums about our government and current events, and
3. to enable voters to make informed decisions going into the November 2010 elections.

The partnership, between Long Island’s primary sources for local news and the largest private university on Long Island, will bring together elected officials, candidates, journalists, political experts and scholars, to interact with students and members of the public, for interactive forums, events and debates.
